Tailor your resume to a job description
SynCV is a job-specific resume tailor: it reads your resume and a job description together, then produces a version of your resume aimed at that one posting. It reorders bullets, rewrites phrasing and re-leads your summary and skills so the experience the employer cares about appears first. It works only from what is already on your resume — it does not add skills, employers or achievements you have not claimed.
What resume tailoring actually changes
Tailoring is a redistribution of attention, not a rewrite of your history. The same roles, the same dates, the same achievements — presented so the parts that matter for one job are the parts a reviewer reads first.
Concretely, four things move:

The default behaviour of a language model asked to make a resume match a posting is to write the missing experience. It reads beautifully and it is not yours, and you find out in the interview.
SynCV is bounded by your uploaded resume. It can promote, reorder, combine and rephrase what is there. It cannot introduce a technology you have not listed, a job you have not held, or a metric you have not recorded. That constraint is the product, not a limitation of it.

What the tailored version does not do is claim they owned renewals or carried a churn target, because they didn't.
If a tailored line in your output names something unfamiliar, that is a bug worth reporting — not a feature.
Why not just use a general-purpose chatbot?
You can, and for one application it is a reasonable choice. The differences show up at volume and around the guardrails.

What it doesn't do
Worth stating plainly, because several of these are things similar tools imply they can do.
- It does not decide whether you are qualified for a job, or whether to apply. It shows where your resume and the posting overlap; the judgement is yours.
- It does not guarantee interviews, and no tool can. Tailoring affects how clearly your experience reads, which is one factor among many.
- It does not guarantee that any applicant tracking system will pass you through. Vendors score differently and employers configure them differently.
- It does not add skills, experience or achievements that are not already on your resume.
- It does not apply to jobs for you or send anything on your behalf. You review and export the file yourself.

How is resume tailoring different from resume rewriting?
- Rewriting changes how your whole resume reads, once, for every application. Tailoring changes which parts of it are prominent, each time you apply. A rewrite improves the document; tailoring aims it at one posting. SynCV does the second, which is why you run it per job rather than once.
Can I edit the tailored resume before downloading it?
- Yes. Every tailored resume opens in an editor where you can change any line, then re-check the match score before downloading. Nothing is sent anywhere on your behalf — you review and export the file yourself.
Can I use SynCV if I am changing careers?
- Yes, and that is where tailoring does the most work. SynCV surfaces the transferable parts of your current experience in the vocabulary of the role you are targeting. It cannot give you experience you do not have, so a career change still depends on you having genuinely relevant work to point at.
Does SynCV tell me whether I am qualified for a job?
- No. SynCV compares your resume to a job description and shows where the two overlap and where they do not. Deciding whether you are a fit — and whether to apply — is yours to make. The match score describes your document, not your candidacy.
Does SynCV guarantee interviews?
- No. SynCV improves how clearly your relevant experience comes across for a specific job, which is one factor among many in a hiring decision. Anyone promising guaranteed interviews or guaranteed ATS approval is selling something they cannot control.
