Terms of service

By creating a SynCV account you agree to these terms. In short: you keep ownership of your resume, you are responsible for the accuracy of what you submit to employers, subscriptions renew until cancelled, and SynCV makes no promise about the outcome of any job application.

The service

SynCV tailors a resume you upload to a job description you provide, reports how well the two match, and can generate a cover letter and track your applications. Features available to you depend on your plan.

Your account

You need an account to use SynCV. You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity on your account. Accounts are for individual use — do not share them.

You must be legally able to enter into this agreement in your jurisdiction.

Your content

Your resume remains yours. We claim no ownership of it, and we do not license it to anyone.

You grant SynCV permission to process your resume and the job descriptions you submit for the purpose of providing the service — including sending that text to the third-party AI provider described in the privacy policy. That permission exists only to run the product.

Accuracy is your responsibility

SynCV produces a draft from the information you provide. You review it and you send it. Anything you submit to an employer is your representation, not ours.

SynCV is designed not to add experience you have not claimed. You are still responsible for reading the output and confirming it is accurate before using it.

Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Submit resumes or personal data belonging to someone else without their permission
  • Use the service to create deliberately false employment claims
  • Attempt to access other users' data, or to disrupt or reverse-engineer the service
  • Resell or redistribute output as your own product
  • Automate access in a way that circumvents plan limits

Plans, billing and cancellation

Free accounts include a fixed allowance of scans. Pro is billed weekly, monthly or quarterly through Dodo Payments, our merchant of record, depending on the billing period you choose, and renews automatically until cancelled. Prices are in Indian rupees in India and in US dollars everywhere else.

Pro's unlimited scans and optimizations are subject to fair use, per account: up to 30 scans an hour and 200 a day, and up to 50 optimizations a day, with a 60-minute break after 10 optimizations in an hour. Days run from midnight UTC. These limits exist to stop automated use and reset on their own; your dashboard shows where you stand.

You can cancel at any time from account settings. Cancellation stops future renewals; your plan stays active until the end of the period you have paid for.

Payments are non-refundable — see the refund policy. Prices can change, and we will give notice before a change affects an existing subscription.

What we don't promise

SynCV is provided as-is. We work to keep it accurate and available, but we do not warrant that it will be uninterrupted or error-free, and specifically:

  • We do not guarantee interviews, job offers or any hiring outcome
  • We do not guarantee that any applicant tracking system will accept or rank your resume
  • We do not assess whether you are qualified for any role
  • Match scores are our own estimate of how closely two documents overlap, not an employer's assessment

Suspension

We may suspend or close an account that breaches these terms, or where required by law. Where we reasonably can, we will tell you why.

Changes

These terms may change as the product does. The date at the top of this page reflects the current version, and we will notify account holders of material changes.
